    Damn CD Player

Just fitted a JVC KD - LH401 in my astra coupe as a replacement for the standard one and everytime I turn the ignition off it cuts all power to the cd player, cancelling all my settings. Is there summit i've done wrong ?

On the wiring that came with the new headunit swap the red and yellow wires around so that it has the permament live in the correct place

Some JVC headunits don't have a wiring loom and they plug straight into te factory wiring. In this case there is a fuse you can move on the back of the headunit

Is that being used at the moment? Is it the steering wheel adaptor? Have you already swapped the wires around? Did the headunit come with it's own plug or did the vauxhall one go straight into the headunit?

Right then use that adaptor as you will notoce the red and yellow wires swap around on it

If you get a steering wheel adaptor you can then get rid of that adaptor your about to use as it swaps the wires around for you

There's loads of big name companies that come up in a google search. Just look at the sticky at the top of this forum for the part number needed and check your headunits capablity
