    Fogs on with mainbeam?

    I see www.totalclosure.com sell the fog light flash kit for £10 ( http://www.totalclosure.com/profile/.../profile4.html )

Anyone know what it consists of? Is it likely to just be a relay? If it is does anyone know what relay and how to wire it up?

What I want is for the fog lights to come on with the main beam but not turn the main beam on when I turn the fogs on.

Yep sounds like a normal high amp 5 pin relay i would say 40 amp to 60 amp, i'm assuming that when you flash it flashes the fogs at the same time if so, there are various ways of wiring relay this is the way i do it, Basically Pin 30 on the relay is your output to the fogs pin 87a will be the original wire for the fog lights from the fog switch in the car, pin 87 can be an ignition supply making sure it is fuse at the source, pin 85 wire to negative supply and pin 86 wire to your main beam flashers, hope that helps

Someone else who knows how to wire up relays

A 30 amp relay will be more than enough though as the fogs only draw 10 amps continuiously and i'd go to the battery rather than a ignition live

So I cut the original wire going to the fog light and join them to pins 30 and 87a?

Pin 30: Wires to the fog lights
Pin 87a: Wire that did go to the fog light?
    Pin 87: To the battery
    Pin 85: earth
Pin 66: Joined to main beam wire

    Is that right?

Also are there any relays in the Astra that would be suitable and do I need 1 relay for each side?

I don't see any that can be used from the astra, any motor factors should have a relay to do the job. It's just a standard 5 pin changeover relay

Only ones needed but you will need to cut the fog light wire before it splits to both fogs and it's probably easy to do this inside the car behind the glovebox
