    Rear view mirror very loose....

    Hi all,
Got my car this morning and all good - one minor thing I noticed is that the rear view mirror is quite loose - is there a way to tighten it up?

Had a look but couldnt see anything obvious.
Only noticed it after going down a road of speed bumps then realised my rear view was now of the passenger seat!

To explain its firmly attached to the ceiling but the actual movement of it (minor adjustments) is very slack indeed.

probably got the comon fault of the cracked cylindrical mount inside the mirror. if you pull the mirror off the stalk, and look inside the hole, you'll see the ball part of the windscreen mount goes into a cylinder shape to allow for the adjustments. I suspect yours has cracked as its a common fault. your best bet is to either get down a scrappy and chance your arm at finding another mirror thats not busted, or order a new one from Vauxhall/LMF or similar... alternatively, for a quick fix you can either glue the existing mirror into a rigid position, or use bluetac/similar to make it more secure

At least with the scrappy you can try before you buy.
I managed to get an interior mirror and interior light with map lights for my Astra G for £2.00, after a bit af haggling and very little loose change in my pocket

    Question Loose mirror

I have the same problem with the mirror in my car, how do you take mirror off?, without either breaking it further, or damaging windscreen. Looks like there is a catch that can be released.

Just taken mine off at lunch for a look and the internal ball mount is cracked. Priced up from dealer at £25+vat, which isn't a bad price compared to most manufaturers, but think i can repair it for free so won't be buying a new one
