Cool mountain biking people - went to Cwn Carn today

Went for a little trip to Cwm Carn today in South Wales. Its fantastic! By far that best mountain biking trail I have done to date, very long up hill - about 4 miles and very technical (there is a transport service to the top if you book in advance) but the downhill is bloody awesome! Although I think I found the limits of the hardtail today and at points I thought I was lucky to get down in one piece.

My chain went twice (bit of a bummer) and a friends went a couple of times well, we also had a puncture - so lots of mountain pitstops Out of 7 of us thats a fair bit to go wrong

Great day out and well worth the effort, get yourself down there! Link below

If you search for Cwm Carn on you tube you will find loads of vids of the trails there - very cool stuff indeed

Just got to find some time to go again! - ah and look at new bikes for in the new year

I went trail riding for the first time ever today... And I loved it! Didn;t even fall off! I'm gonna be taking it up as a hobby eventually... I didn;t think I was gonna make it as i'm rubbish on a road bike!

Now my legs hurt quite a bit!

If I lived that near I would be up there every day - fantastic place!

I came off a few times as well but just my pride dented (and pads) not my body

Joe its a great sport to get into just make sure you buy a decent helmet and dempening on the riding you do body armour/pads.

this looks like the same place i went with the marines, is there a little pub at the bottom by any chance? If it is the same place it is a bloody good route to go down.

not that I saw Tony - although there were buildings around but I never investigated. You come out of the tiny village up the hill towards the visitors centre and the mounting biking part is on the right.

I live right by there Mat, the trail takes you to the top of twymbarlin mountain, the view is awesome isnt it, and the downhill is even better, it used to be even better before they removed the forest, i used to take my RM250 up there many yearas ago. The forest was very dangerous at speed, but such an adreline.
