Question Can Anyone Help With My Gsi, Traction Control Fault Code???

    Hi all,

I have been getting the traction control light coming on when driving normally, it comes on out of the blue and stays on then wont go off until you shut off the ignition then start it back up.

I have managed to read a fault code from the ECU, it is
C0710 - which says 'Left Rear Solenoid Circuit Malfunction'

Can anybody shed any light onto where and what this solenoid is?

I have looked on the EPC cd rom but cannot find any part codes or diagrams relating to a traction control solenoid.

Can anyone help, or has anyone else had this problem/code?

    P.S my cars a GSI MK4, 2003.

    Cheers for any help

Thanks for the post, It isnt the AFM as that code isnt showing up on the ecu and it usually does!!! I have had one already.

Can you explain further what the boost solenid is??? Is it traction control related?

I was thinking as the fault code is saying rear solenoid that there is a traction control solenoid on each wheel??? Is this correct?

    Any further help much appreciated.

    cheers

The traction control monitors the ABS sensors and if one if them had gone i'm expect the ABS light to come on to

Hopefully someone else can explain more on the boost solenid more as i'm not totally sure on it it was just my idea of what it could mean

Thanks for the reply autosparks, so am i right in thinking the ABS and T/C use the same sensors???

If so could I just get the T/C light on without the ABS light if one sensor had developed a fault or would i definetely get both ABS and T/C lights on???

    thanks again

    much appreciated
