    Diesel astras?

Im looking at getting a sport hatch for work, its got to be a diesel and has to be available from lease. Ive been looking at the SRi XP but its only 150BHP, am I right in thinking that the 888 isnt made any more?

I spotted the T9 but then found out they arent made from new so cant get one of them. other engineers are getting the passat which is 170BHP, so I want something quicker.

get the 150 and get IPF from regal and you'll have 200bhp that's easy to get rid of if the lease company wants a look.

    But do tell your insurance.

    Hi Chris

Yep the 888 was a limited run of 103 (or something like that). However buying an SRI XP and purchasing a tuning box or having a remap will be seeing 200BHP without a problem.

Then just need to upgrade brakes, suspension, interior and alloys and you've got yourself your own 888. However it being a company car I'd probably stop at a remap TBH. Perhaps an induction kit or so.

Dont bother with an induction kit, waste of money really. As mentioned get a 150SRI, and put a DTUK tuning box on, this will take power to around 200bhp, and can be easily removed and sold on once your car goes back. Just stick to changing the panel filter every 5k or so. Depending on what you want to do (bearing in mind its a lease car), you could also add the Magnex exhaust and a set of Eibach lowering springs.

well the trouble is that i cant really modify it as its a company car, unless vauxhall do it as an option? I dont really want to pay for a remap myself as i would have to declare it-therefore upsetting the company's insurance people. (and id rather spend the money on my own car lol)

I just want to get something worth while because of the cost to me in tax each month! I just dont really want to get a big saloon car as im only 26!

I may just have to hope vauxhall release something in the next couple of months

I doubt we'll see anything more powerful in the current Astra.

Really, if you want anything more powerful, then you're looking at either a Golf 2.0TDi-170 or a Megane Sport 175. The 1.9-150 in the Astra is a very good engine and makes the car go very, very well. Some totally standard ones have been rolling roaded well over 170hp.
