If we had a motorist friendly government

I think that the government should shut the M25 for 1 day and allow the public to drive round the orbital in timed runs (both ways). I'd pay £50 to do it, imagine the revenue it would raise? You could start and finish at the Dartford tunnel or bridge.

Who else would fancy ragging thier motor round the motorway in such a way?

Or what other roads could you suggest doing it on, perhaps reopen the Birmingham superprix road course of the early 90s?
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!

    pmsl. Driver friendly government.
If they shut the M25 down for a day, the country would come to a standstill.
£50 a time would be a drop in the ocean for the revenue the country would lose for that 24 hour period.

That said, it would be novel to cane it around the M25 with minimal road users.

Glad someone is talking sense Byron, it costs the economy a million quid an hour (thereabouts) to shut a motorway, let alone the havoc it would cause to close the M25, plus pay for the damage people cause by crashing into the armco all that day. Plus paying for emergency services to peel boyracers of the hardshoulder with a spatula!
