    Question 98 astra heat senser probs

    hi lads i dont know if this is the right section here but my 98 plate astra the last of the old shape model's heaters only work in the number 4 possition the heat is ok but no blowers work untill you switch it to number 4.if it is the heat senser prob as i was told by a m8 is it 1 expensive.2 hard to do.3 where can i get one from.any info would be great lads as the missus is hard to please lads cheers andy..

    Sounds like the resistor on the motor.

    Goto a scrappy and get one, just unbolts from the motor iirc.

    So you have the last of the MK3 shape?

    The heater resistors that control the fan speed are very common to go on these and the last one I changed was totally melted

    It was about £35 from vauxhall and a half hour job to change, i've got some piccy's somewhere
    Want a professional job done on fitting your aftermarket electrical accessories? PM me for a quote
    Electrical fault finding also taken on
    Located in N/W London HA3, and willing to travel within reason

    It's not hard to do at all, sometimes the terminals get all rusted on but all being well less than 30 minutes work
