    Temp Sender Switch

    Hi Guys

    i got a 1.7 dti - x 2000 astra estate - i need to replace the temp sender switch where is it located (pic if poss) as the last vaux i had was in year 2001 - sorry been a while

    think its on the thermostat casing/housing,which is on the righthand side looking in to the engine bay between engine and battery

    iam told theres 2 types from my motorfactors one at £11 and the other at £27

    X17DTL = Vx part number 9117449
    Y17DT = Vx part number 15326383

    Presuming of course you mean the CTS (Coolant Temperature Sensor)

    Unfortunately I havent got a price for these but I know the ones for petrol models cost approx £15 for GM & £10 for pattern parts so at a guess the X17DTL one is the cheaper of the two....

    My knowledge of the oil burners is limited so Id check again with ur motor factors and make sure the 2 listed arent the 2 i have above...if so select the one based on which engine u have.

    yep i mean the coolant temp sensor - as mines foobard and i got the x 2000 1.7 dti so assuming its the top one - many thanks for that ill ring vx tommorow and price it up exactly

    Well....first of all it would help if u actually said what the problem was.

    All through this thread youve just asked about the CTS and given no indication as to what the problem is and what symptoms your car has.

    If you can give us as much info as possible and what conditions it occurs then we can do our best to guide u in the right direction.

    sorry fella, my temp gauge isnt working, i replaced the temp sensor and still no joys sadly
