    Irmscher Grille fitting queries

Right, I fitted my Irmscher grille today but ive got a couple of issues.

Firstly, on close inspection of the grill I noticed that the horizontal strips of plastic wern't completely straight and had slight bends in them as if they were warped. Has anyone else had this, is this how most of them come?

Secondly, I modified the bonnet pull so that it would not stick out as much, but I have noticed that the pull rubs and is pressed against the left hand side of the grill (I have cut off the end peice of the pull). It seems as if the gap in the grill for the bonnet pull is not aligned with where the bonnet pull comes out? Has anybody else experienced this? Any solutions?

alrite mate is this definately a irmscher grill and not a copy as you shouldnt have to make any alterations as it is a proper vauxhall motorsport division part, i have just got a grill for my car and the only thing i did with the bonnet catch is coloured the white arrow in black then it blended in to the grill, and i paid £22 for my grill

    thanks

If it isn't an actual irmscher then iots a very good fake. It has the irmscher logo and PN embossed on the bottom left of the grill.

I have the newer style Irmscher grill, and its exactly the same mate.

Not sure about the warped/bent slats, not looked at mine close enough to notice it.

Well heres a pic of the grill fitted:

If you look on the top row of slats closely there looks to be a slight warp on some of the slats.

that will just be a default on that grille. if you bought it from a store ask for a replacement.

what did you do to modify the bonnet pull?

I followed the How-To on the site. Drilled a hole about a cm back but it's just rubbing on the left hand side. I bought the grill off ebay unfortunately so no chance of returning it.

Mine is rubbing a litte bit too (even tho I cut that little bit on one side of the pull).. But it's just slight rubbing so really it's not a big problem.. It's not something you open 10 times a day anyway

I just took photos a while ago...

Anyway I'm quite surprised that company like Irmscher couldn't measure everything properly while they were designing a grille for Astra G and everyone now has to modify bonnet pull. Embarrassing imho
