    multimeter q

    Alright all,

    Does anyone know the best way to deal with a multimeter in the car.. ive just bought one to try to sort out an electrical problem, but could do with knowing the best setting to check the wiring behind the stereo and I guess I earth it just anywhere thats metal?

    easth anywhere metal, depends what you are trying to find out? try the 20v and that should show you the 12v your looking for.

    Got where the problem was now...

    The ignition live wire had melted... stereo is now working. Got a feed coming straight off the battery... Going to repair the wiring and return the car to standard on sunday (hopefully)

    Cheers for all the advice so far.. multimeter is a gem!
