    Question Astra mk3 'F' 1.6 Oil

Have a '96 Premier and wondering what oil i can use in the engine, the head gasket is shot and will be changed in a few weeks, but I want to change the oil in the meantime as it's sucked in a shedload of water over the last month or so, so while i sort out the new bits etc, I've got a new bottle of 15w40 kicking about and was hoping to use this as Halfrauds states that this is the one to use but in a 90's engines i would have thought that was a bit too old school.

any recommendations?, i really don't wanna buy more oil until i sort the gasket.

    Regards

    Al.

given you've got water in your oil it's not really gonna matter that much is it.
