    IE7 quick help please

just a couple of small questions with IE7 (that I finally got round to installing this week )

firstly, when I click links, is there anyway to set it so that it opens a new tab by default rather than a completely new window? I can't be doing with using "CTRL+" click...

secondly, is there anyway of getting the File/Edit/View/Favorites menu bar above the address bar as it used to be in IE6..? its annopying me now, it doesn't look right

Dunno about IE, but on firefox you can do it by clicking with the middle (scroll) button. Maybe an option in IE somewhere?

There is as mine does it.

Can't remember how i did it tho.

I'll see if i can find out where you can change the option.

IIRC i selected it, when i first used IE7.

In the TOOLS menu, select internet options.

Under the GENERAL tab you'll see Tabs at the bottom, select SETTINGS

The bottom section is Open links from other programs in

Select A new tab in the current window

    and select O.K.

For links that open in a new window ( popups ) its:

In the TOOLS menu, select internet options.

Under the GENERAL tab you'll see Tabs at the bottom, select SETTINGS

The bottom section is When a popup is encountered

Select Always open popups in a new tab

    and select O.K.

hmmm.. mine was already set to "A new tab in the current window"

have changed a couple of other settings in there though and it seems to have fixed it. think it may be the setting above the one you selected (popups IIRC) but hey ho its done now cheers for the help.

EDIT - beaten to it by Andy, cheers mate

so does anyone know about moving the address bar down a line? seems fixed to me, and I've checked the toolbars aren't locked before anyone asks
