    Keeping Your Word

Many many years ago, my ma and pa took me to Harrods for the first time and my first thoughts, impressive place. Had a good wander round the place until I reached the jewellery section where I had noticed the gents watches section. I could not believe some of the prices some of them were. One of them was £11,000

Anyway, it did not take me long to wander off to find the cheaper watches section. But, I should have guessed, there is no such thing as a 'cheap' watch in Harrods . One watch did catch my eye at the time and it cost a cool £1100. Me pa offered to buy me it, but I did not take up the offer and said one day, I will come back here and buy a watch with money I earnt myself and it will be no less than £1000.

However, up til this day it has not happened. One day though, one day. Stay tuned

Anyone here made a promise to themselves a long time ago and still waiting for it to happen?

Keeping my word to myself - try not to attempt to top myself again.

Will only know that one the day I die of natural or murderous causes.

And that was probably way deeper than this thread was meant to go

    I've made a few...

    1) is to buy a house and furnish it etc ready to move in, and to not tell the other half at all what I've done... then to pick her up from work one day and drive there and surprise her (this is probably going to have to wait until I win the lottery though )

    2) is to get to the point where I never have to refer to someone other than my missus as "the boss"... I fully intend that before I'm 30 (just over 7 years to go then!) to either own my own business, or to be fully self employed and in charge of my own working life for a change

    3) is to finish researching/to buy/to build my next project car - something very special indeed

    4) the most far fetched promise I guess... to live to see the day M1GST makes its debut on an AOC stand (sorry mat )

    1) to finish uni and get a good job - Not only to keep my family happy, but as a measure of success, and to make my dad proud.

    2) to buy a skyline - i'm not in the position to buy one or insure/run one now, but one day i will be.

    3) to keep the people i love happy - as they where there for me, and i always want to be there for them

Im in the middle of the spectrum.

    wanted:
-To own a convertable > got that (7 months ago)
-Develop software for a good company in the city > yup do it for the banks, in the heart of the city (5 months ago)
-Get a good Degree (got that a few years ago)
-find a good partner (been with me now fiancee 3 years)

Only a few left to get:
    - buy a house, and really make it my own. (need more money....or house price crash)
    - run the london marathon (one day i will get round to it.. just em yes that thing came up... )
    - sky dive (hopefully do next year)
