    sri turbo insurance?

hi chaps! iv seen an sri turbo i fancy but insurance is turning into a head ache! quinn (who im with) wont insure me because it a performance car( so they say) now i dont have any ncd, but i have pass plus and have been driving for 1y 10months. now this is where the problem is i can get insured for about 1300 if id been driving 2 years but as im 6 weeks under that they want 1800 ( which is too much). so has anyone got a decent quote with a similar situation to me? or any ideas on insurance im considering getting insured on my dads insurance and then changeing over in 6 weeks and driving my car in the mean time?

im 18, have 2 years NCB off scooters and also 6 points from scooters.

    been driving 7 months

elephant.co.uk have quoted me £1202 fully comp for a sri turbo

the key to this price for me, was to add my mother as a named driver on my policy, even though she will rarely drive it, her name took it down fro £1800

    hope this helps

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

I was 20 with 0 NCB when first insured my coupe turbo, cost £1700. I had been driving for 3 years as well.

Dropped to around £1100 when I was 21 with 1years NCB

Saturday as in Yesterday...their busiest day of the week!

Give em time mate - they are one of the biggest specialist insurers in the UK so just allow them some time to return your call.

You'd be far easier ringing them up though for a dedicated quote from one of the advisors.

Explain your situation regarding the NCB and Im sure they'll do all they can to help.

They've been nothing but courteous and helpful all the years Ive been with them. You could even ask them about club membership etc...for example full AOC members typically see a reduction of anything upto 25% through Adrian Flux depending on individual circumstances...so maybe some food for thought.
