    Oil Leak After Turbo Change

I recently had my Turbo changed for a VXR one as the old ZLET one was blowing oil past the seals.

Ever since I keep getting pools of oil around the bottom of the metal pipe that goes from the front of the rocker cover to the sump.

I'm e-mailing the garage in question , but has anyone got any thoughts as to where it could be coming from?

    Cheers
    Craig

I think that in many cases with newly fitted VXR turbo's, oil seepage comes as standard I'm afraid .

I may have read that the part/puipe flange that is generallythe culprit has been superceeded by a different part quite recently.

Hey, thats were my leak was, and it was the oil breather pipe, maybe check that.

That's what I suspected it might be, the oil breather pipe as the guy had an absolutely nightmare getting the pre cat back on so there were various tools and attempts so the metal breather pipe could have easily been disturbed.

If it's not that then my new Turbo's not lasted long!

The whole point in me taking it to a respectable garage and paying a bit extra was that they'd do a quicker job than I could do and I was hoping as they were more experienced there would be no issues.

I'm not going to start moaning too much yet as I want to see how the aftersales service is and I'll decide then.

    Cheers

When i first goy my coupe I found oil in the same area, two 13mm bolts hold it in place and the hose at the top. I took it off, cleaned the whole area up and refitted with a little RTV silicone (stong stuff and heat resistant) its not leaked since. only problem is the back bolt is a git to get too!

I had an oil leak at the base of that metal pipe - I kocked it one day oil seepage the next - some instant gasket and jobs a gooden.

May be the rubber hose (or silicone if upgraded ) perished slightly at the top though with being moved around
