    cone or panel filter

help i've put a k and n cone filter on my astra sri and noticed a nasty noise when its sitting on idle. it sounds great when you accelerate but the noise on idle makes the car sound like its never had a service.

my question is really will i lose any performance if i get a performance panel filter instead as i've been told the cone filter is best.

A panel filter in conjunction with the Vec C Pipe will draw cold air - wheras your cone will be sucking warm air from the engine bay!

    I have a K&N on my Z20LET

ive had both methods cone and the typical airbox setup (do a search for derestricting airbox and veccy c) the airbox has more performance and is better to drive but is silent the cone somtimes when in trafic somtimes makes the car feel like its bogged down
so airbox for performance but cone for sound ive got the cone at the minute
