    Wheel refurb

In the not too distant future I will be needing a wheel refurb (and new center caps cheers coo!)

Anyway, after looking at some more btcc pictures and the dvd's it seems the wheels where definatley black - therefore why did 888 do them an anthracite colour?

Therefore my question is, do I go same again, slightly darker, or black as black can be?

Also anyone know where I can get oz wheel graphics and center caps - other than ebay

If you talk to Rich888 he works at a decal company and has done the decals before I think, so he might be willing to help you out.

The centre caps will be near impossible to replace I'd have thought (although you do get a new set when you order a new set of wheels from tripleeight) - you'll probably have to do a diy job on yours.

A few different colours were tried when they were building the cars, including gold, silver and black, but they chose anthracite.

Steve had his refurbed and I'm pretty sure that the original colour is a Daewoo paint code.

Imo, a little darker looks loads better though, my mk5 888 wheels are a bit darker than the original and I'm very happy with the look. I think that Rich's are a shade darker still. Black might be a bit too much though.

Cheers scott think I may go a touch darker n change decal colour as brakes are looking to go red so red yellow n blue may look a tad odd.

team dynamics paint code is sparkling anthracite - of course even with the paint code is unique to team dynamics so its of no use to us to find out what it is.

i used sparkling graphite from a bmw. any othe metallic grey i looked at just wasnt looking right so i went with the bmw colour

the oe colour is a daewoo colour as scott says

I'd go for a gloss finish as well by the way, as the matt sheen finish on the original OZ's is what causes them to go the way yours and many others have gone.

Luckily they had the gloss option for mine, but I noticed that the mk5 888 has that same horrid coating so they will probably be going the same way as yours in a year or two's time.

As for the colours, there is a T8 with red brembos and the three colours looked fine when he had the original OZ's on.

Red lettered center caps are easier to get hold of though lol.

As for finish although a pain in the arse I like the matt sheen ish finish.
