Z20LET into Astra G
I am currently starting a project upgrading from a 1.6 16v to a Z20LET. still a few bits and bobs to get yet and many questions to be answered as vauxhall are not willing to help with any sort of wiring diagram.
will be looking to start just before or after christmas.
said to myself that i am not starting untill i have at least 95% of the parts.
parts i need if anybody can help.
the standard main CAT Section,
GSI Turbo engne bay wiring loom,
regal driveshafts as i am currently running 4 stud and keeping it like that.
set of turbo induction hose's, including from lower intercooler.
308mm discs and pads from steve at LMF (Good egg)
oxygen sensor for main cat section.
need to find out what the sensor/plug is for near the ECU by the battery. i know what the bigger ones are.
if any of you have done this before, i would greatly appreciate any advice and tips.
will post pics along the way.

Hi it can be done
on drive shafts just use Turbo ones as they fit into 4 stud hubs
on the parts needed you will need 4 stud ABS hubs you can get them from a astra G on fronts an rears from a mk5 astra
unless you have abs on your car
it would be cheaper to buy a Crashed coupe Turbo as you need a lot of bits
the loom from inside the car also
see i was told from regal that i would need the F23 shafts as i am going to run a F23. but would need astra MK2 CV Joints as the turbo F23 shafts would fit as they are different slines.
i was planning on getting the full car but i found a Z20LET with 37k on it just servcied for £895.
my motor don't have ABS.
i have never done this before and understandably i am crapping it. lol
used one of the links for getting a price on a list of parts.

the above is supposed to say would not fit as the F23 CV joints have differnt splines to the 4 stud hub so i was told by Regal.
mark i will pm you my number an give me a call some time about this I have done this so i know whats needed an its a lot of work
what regal have told you is news to me
a F23 drive shaft is a turbo one also this fits into a 4 or 5 stud hub as all mk4 hubs on the wheels are the same size
why dont you want to sell your car an buy a turbo ?? done a lot of body work ?
i had f23 shafts in my 4 stud hubs.

mint thats a few penies saved. they were qouting close to £2oo just for the shafts. confused me and i work on jump jets for a living. lol
as for selling and getting a turbo, its mainly down to always wanting to do a engine cahnge (don't ask why lol ) and due to the amount of work i have done to mine i would loose hand over fist.

i dont use my car its a project i have a another car to use.
i loved every part of doing my engine conversion and cant wait to fit the Z20LET.
once you take that old engine out there will be no stopping you.
try and take your time don't rush it and enjoy yourself.
