Doh I have lost the key for my locking wheel nuts!!!

I have just spent all day pulling my car and the garage apart looking for the key for my Wolfrace wheel nuts but can't find it. Is it best to try and order a replacement key, or just get a garage to hammer on a socket? I tried hammering a socket on myself today but I think the socket was way too big.

Happened to a mate and he hammered on a socket and it didnt grip the nut enough to turn the it and just ended up spending ages trying to yank the socket off. Most garages have a locking wheel nut removal kit

i just had same problem, bought car without key!! luckily i contacted owner and got it, but went to vauxhall - useless, they have a case full of keys and none of them fitted... theres apparently about 65 varients and vauxhall havent distributed master cases very well, so go there, you might be lucky.

failing that they said they could drill them off at the cost of £100!! rip off imo but if its your only option one you will have to take unfortunatly!

I managed to get them off using a big hammer and a socket. It took a bit of effort as the socket was extremely tight on the locking bolt. Completely mashed up the bolts. Just glad to have got them off.

Locking nuts are the worst thing you could ever put on a car. Especially the Vauxhall ones - they corrode the second your screw them in.
