It depends how new your original panel filter is?

It won't increase the noise putting a k&n etc in but will help flow the air more freely

If ur only runnin a standard paper filter at the moment then chuck it in the bin and fit a fresh paper one... Should only cost about £6-8 from vauxhall (part number 91155714) or about £6 off ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Astra...QQcmdZViewItem

Wouldnt bother with a so called performance one either - id just stick with OE ones and replace them once a year.

If however u defo wanted an uprated one then for value for money Id opt for the Courtenay Sport foam one...approx £33 delivered and its a rebranded Pipercross unit.

Do the Courtenay ones come with the oil like the pipercross units?

Yes - filter oil is supplied with the element itself

    Check it out here: http://www.courtenaysport.co.uk/inde...d&productId=23

but would it make a difference do you think? yeh am running a paper one atm but its lik brand new so it dont need changing, just thought a performance one would make a difference, i used to have a K&N 57i on me corsa sport 1.4 but it made me car hold back, made a loud noise and used more petrol LOL but still no improvment on the car performance, so sold it on and got the normal airbox back on and paper filter

Would it be worth getting a foam filter but for the airbox?if you can get them :S:S LOL

I have de-restricted my air box & when I have added the veccy C I will buy a courtney filter. I don't think there will be a noticable difference but for £30 it is worth it.
