    Question Any help appreciated

    Hi All

Finally taking final look and picking up my cabby tonight and .............

Can anyone tell me anything i've missed off the list below on what i should double check before driving her away and home please?

    Check list
    roof works without problem
    tyre tread
    docs (mot/v5)
check mileage against mot (numbers str8 line)
    service history
unscrew oil filler cap (s/be nice and black) (creamy and smudgy colour means naff?)
    what warranty offered?
    lights work (interior and exterior)
    check electrics (windows etc)
turn on full lock both ways gently. (shouldnt be any knocking)
engine running (and idle) sounds ok.

Can you tell by the notes that i've been told to check these bits... has friend missed anything off that cabbys are renowned for that i should be also checking pls?

    Thanks
    Tina

I assume you will be going for a test drive?

Check to see if the car pulls up in a straight line under firm braking.

Is there any vibration from the steering wheel when driving suggesting that the wheels may need balanced or other issues in that area.

Listen for any other clonking or banging sounds from the suspension on the move.

Check that both keys are present.

    HPI check?

Inspect front inner wings / front crossmenber for any ripples or dodgy welding suggesting poorly - repaired accident damage. Do the same for the boot floor.

Also check for uneven panel gaps/paint mismatch to check for similar signs of accident damage. Not necessarily a 'walk away' point, but a good bargaining tool.

Thats all I can think of for now - hope this helps :-)
