    airbox advise

    a vauxhall boffin at work argues with me tht instead of deristricting the airbox and fitting a veccy c pipe wouldnt be as gd as just removin the bottom of the airbox and fixing the panel filter into place....can anyone confirm this 4 me coz hes doin my nut in ...thnx

    if you removed the bottom of the airbox there wouldnt be anywhere to fit a panel filter into?

    does he mean an induction kit?

    nah not an induction i dint quite get wot he ment but he def sed bout removin 1 of the halfs of the airbox....but i told him tht u guys on here swear by it over nething else... he owns a 2.5 v6 vectra n has done it 2 his but i told him his air feed was diff but thn he told me hes took the air feed off completly !!!!!!

    He may have the filter siliconed into the top half of the air box but doing that and going into heavy rain isnt good

    you could glue the filter to the top half of the airbox and then remove the bottom. But its not going to be good when in traffic etc as loads of hot air will get into it.

    It would still need a cold air feed as well from somewhere, as the bottom of the airbox sits above the wheel well, so there won't be a massive amount of air getting into that area of the engine bay.
    A veccy C pipe would still be better option as there air is being forced down the pipe into the airbox when driving.

    haha never heard of that before, personally id just stick to the airbox mods.
