Exclamation Factory fitted alarm & Clifford alarm.

    'ello Fellow Astra owners.

Today I bought a 92 Astra Mk 3 CDi which runs great, but has a Clifford Arrow 5 Alarm fitted, it works fine, however, there are 2 niggly things that need sorting.

    1. The drivers door lock seems to be out of the loop of the Clifford alarm and the rest of the system, in-so-far as it can only be unlocked/locked with the key.

    2. The Vauxhall alarm is still present and working as well (though the Key Fob needs batteries)

OK so the above leads to the following. I have to lock the driver's door with the key, then press the Clifford Key Fob, which locks the other doors and boot and I have activated BOTH alarms.

This is annoying as the whole idea of remote central locking, is that you don't need the key. I keep forgetting to turn off the Clifford Alarm and open with the key, then when I put the key in the ignition all hell breaks loose.

The Clifford alarm was apparently installed proffesionally, but the result was as above! does this mean that it had to be done to make the Clifford work? or is it possible there just might be a problem with the door lock on the driver's side? I noted the drivers Door Facia has been removed and not replaced correctly.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

    Cheers

I would say it's just something as simple as a problem with the drivers door motor or the wiring to it

I would agree with mr. sparks. The drivers door should unlock with the other doors on the remote locking. That is of course if the Clifford was wired in to the correct wiring, i.e. the brown/reds and brown/whites.
