Does it make the noise while turning the steering or over bumps?

Sounds like its doing the same a mine. Ive read a few posts on this and i belive its got something to do with the bearing from the standard strut top not being used.

Ive yet to have a chance to fix mine but i belive you need to prize the bearing out of the plastic casing and fit it into the top of the coilover top hat. Cant remember completely tho

I'll see if i can find it for you.

Exactly what i was going to say if you leave the bearing out the spring will not be able to rotate when steering around corners and will jump on the spring cup!

Ive heard a few people say they have done loads and loads of miles and had no issues and ive done a quite a few miles now (simply due to not having time to do it) and had no problems apart from the knocking/clunking noise on dry steering. So id say no its not major and not going to be dangerous IMO. But id get them done asap if i were you, i plan to as soon as i get time!!

Guessing you didnt fit the bearing either?

Damn german instructions! Should have translated them i guess

I wouldn't leave it to long could do some damage to the springs or the cups with no bearings as greg says it's dry metal on metal without them. Or if you have the fk kit like me you could break the lower nylon spring.
