2.0 DI will not start, help please

    Hi people,

I just bought used 2003 Astra G caravn, had it for month and a half and now it seems it has a major problem. I was coming back from the short trip and the yellow light came on (I think it is check engine) at this time car would not accelerate even if I had it floored down, I looked in the manual, shut down the engine and turned it on again, everything seemed normal and I drowe back to the house.

Next morning I get in the car and bummer, it wont start, it starts for like 5 seconds and runs like only two cylinders are working and then it shuts down, engine has huge vibrations and the smoke is lil bit whiteish. there is no check engine light however.

I checked the oil level, everything is perfectly fine, fuel thank is topped off, actually just topped it off on the way back from the trip.

Can somebody help please, major emergency

    Thanx

white'sh smoke is usually a sign of a head gasket gone, but please don't take my word for it wait for other more tech minded members to answer
hope its not the gasket, have you checked coolant levels
    good luck

It'll be most likely the injection pump.

    Hi Guys,

Hmm, check this out, I had mechanic put the working Bosch pump in my car (it was taken from the other car, conforming of course) and I still get the same problem, Pump doesnt deliver enough fuel and pressure to the engine, what can this be, is it maybe computer or is it some stupid valve that is causing this??

White smoke is steam in the form of water. So I'd be checking for head gasket failure IE compression test or oil in the water and mayonaise type substance under the oil filler cap and the dipstick.

Could be blocked pipes/filter as well so check those out too.

    Good luck

Is the engine management light flashing? If it is, then it's an immobiliser issue.

Hi, no there is nothing unusual and no warnings, as I said the light that looks like a "car from the profile with round arrow inside it" came on during drive, car couldnt speed up, I turned the engine off and started it on immedietely with no problems, drowe another kilometer to the house and parked the car, next morrning it wouldnt start, it starts but it idles very irratically for couple of seconds and then it dies down.

Went to Opel dealer, paid for diagnostics and he told me it is a bad injection pump, also wanted like 2200 E for repair, I went to scrap yard, got the pump from the car that crashed but engine is fine (and guy gave me the guarantee and warranty on it), took it to the private shop, guy replaced the pump and sait it wont start, there is also no warning indication on the dash board.

Mechanic seems to think that this "new" pump is bad too, but I dont know what to think anymore except that I have the feeling they all want to rip me off

    HELP, thanx

    That light is

    A Engine electronics,
    Immobilizer 3,
    Automat ic transmi ssion 3,
    fault,
    see pages 26, 51, 158, 170.

That came on, I turned the car off, and started it again, also the guy at the OPEL said that he doesnt see any foult signs or messages after he hooked it up to his computer but he said he is convinced it is the bosch pump

I hope this helps, can somebody join the discussion????

OK, so I just came back from another guy and his computer read out P1651s0B fault code and wrote a message CAN-BUS Communication Error

does this means that my injection pump electronics are bad or something else?

    Thanx for reply
