You can retro fit them, but finding the headlamps is difficult now, buying the xenon HID kits is easy.

Here mine and a friends, both with retro fitted xenons (note: no head lamp washers on the bumper).

You can use the angel eye type headlamps with the projector lenses, or fit them to standard headlamps.
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!

i was hoping not to go down the HID kit route as i thought it involved cutting some wires which i lack the confidence to do.

what sort or prices would i be looking at to convert them to HID then?

Ive just bought a HID kit off scottyboy, Great kit and cant recomend them enough.

The headlamp loom in my coupe just pluged straight into the ballast unit
    for the HID kit.

AS i didnt have an spring clips to hold the bulbs in place my dad converted my vaux bulb holders and now the HID bulb sits snug wont be going anywere fast.

Scott was selling them for £55 which is a good buy as they go for twice that on ebay.

I also got a kit of Scottyboy and fitted it into sharkeyes, no cutting of wires is needed, very easy to do.

HID kits come with the bulbs and the ballasts as they need 25,000v to ignite the bulbs (thats what the ballast does)

I have now ordered another set from eBay to go into my main beam - they only cost £48 as got them of ebay.com and the doller-pound rate is very good ATM.

    Thats inc p+p

just search for H7 HID on ebay.com.

They cost around $45 + $50 p+p, which works out at less than £50.

This is the actual kit I have bought, but TBH they all look the same, from the pictures it looks nearly identical to the kit I got of Scottyboy.
