    From Sky Sports :

Formula 1's FIA governing body has proposed that McLaren be excluded from the 2007 and 2008 F1 World Championships, according to www.planetf1.com

The Woking team, who faced the FIA's World Motor Sport Council for the second time in Paris on Thursday after new evidence came to light in the ongoing 'spy' scandal, have reportedly been found guilty of using Ferrari technical information in this year's championship.

The WMSC has subsequently proposed that McLaren be excluded from both this year's and next year's World Championships - although it currently remains unclear whether this means the drivers' and/or constructors' championship.

If the former proves to be the case, then the sanction will mean that Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso, currently first and second in the drivers' championship, will have their points totals wiped.

I'll be gutted if they get booted out especially as it is nice to have a Brit on top for a change.

I cant see the fans taking it lightly if they are outed, it could damage the sport pretty heavily.

It's the only way that Ferrari were going to win anything major this season.

Sad day for motorsport when one team does all it can to get another team banned.

This is going to go an for a while, as i bet McClaren appeal

I'm willing to wager they won't be booted out. read in The Sun today an interesting point that makes me think this... If Mclaren are kicked out, then there is a distinct possibility that Mercedes would withdraw from the sport as Mclaren are their most successful tie-in to it.

Plus, there's the small matter of the millions that come into F1 in general because of Mclaren's sponsors. Another reason that Mclaren won't be kicked out is because it would turn the rest of this season (and for however long they are out) into little more than a procession, which would be ridiculous because it is only this season with the emergence of Lewis Hamilton & the subsequent openness of the title race (on the track at least, and ignoring any possible points deductions) that F1 has started to enjoy a resurgence.

I just can't see any logic in it.

There isn't any, it's Ferrari playing the big I AM.

Teams have been copying each others ideas for years.
They even pay photographers to take pics of competitors cars in Parc ferme to see different designs.

The FIA know and accept this happens but won't outlaw it, no team will complain as they ALL do it.

The whole thing stinks.......that's it. I'm NEVER buying a Ferrari!
