    New car help

Ok, I've have narrowed it down to 2 cars for my new one.

Problem is they're both be about the 90k mark, i need to know if you would entertain either of them. Looking at spending about 6k.

    BMW 318IS X reg or 320

MK4 Golf GT TDI can't remember the year (it'll be my 3rd golf and 2nd GT TDI)

What you think? Would you get something else or have one of the 2?

Just wondering, how can you tell if the Golf is the 110 or the 150 version? do you go by the red 'i' for the 150 version?

9 times out of 10 it'll tell you in the advert BUT

Red I it's either a 110 or the 115 with the 6 speed gear box
Red DI it's the 130 with a 6 speed box
Red TDI it's the 150 with a 6 speed box

As far as i know any way.

Not into Bora's and I've heard the V5 is quite bad on fuel for what the engine is.

318 gets a thumbs down. 320 is a minumum on a 3 series imo, 328 FTW. 90k is practically delivery mileage for a well serviced 6cyl Beemer so no real worries there.

Al all 110's are 5 speed some 115's were 5 but most are 6 speed

    all 130's are six speed

    all 150's are six speed

the 150 has a front mount intercooler

if you lift the carpet in the boot there is a sticker that tells you what power it is running in Kw

also the 110 is not the new PD engine that the 115, 130 and 150's all are

I just get a little worried with miles that high and as i will be doing about 600 miles a month it'll have to be reliable.

The insurance quotes are the same for all models of BM so i'm not fussed what the engine size is as long as it doesn't drink tons of fuel and is reliable which i've heard BM's are but i've not had any experience with them myself.

Any other little things that differs between the 130 and 150?

130 hs two rear head rests the 150 has 3

also the front splitter on the 150 has two air intakes at each side where as the 130 doesnt

also the engine cover on the 150 had all three TDI letters in red where as the 130 doesnt but these can be easily changed

dont go by the bdges as that was left up to the dealers supplying the car as to what it was badged as
