alarm going off on a dead battery?? - would that be the power sounder at a guess - the cars security siren thinking soumeones stealing me - taking off one terminal before the other will stop it going off - as will the remote locking/unlocking button i think - dunno if ignition no.2 position will kill it as well. my battery ran flat last week and caused the alarm to go off - think the unlock button on the key stopped it

Well my car is at work because i took the pick up home as it was late and noone else was there. so i just disconnected the battery and left it off til tomorrow.

Will get a jump tomorrow off someone.

Failure of main battery does cause the powersounder to sound the alarm. Done it, got the T-shirt!

It won't sound the same as only the powersounder siren is operating - under normal alarm conditions both the siren and horn sound together.

Sort out your battery / alternator problem and all will be well.
