    Traction control and ESP?

    hello all:
is traction control different than ESP?
is Astra CD is equiped to have TC/ESP?
If yes what are the required parts and numbers.
Is there How to for TC? what I found is TC switch only?

    Another question please
My car came with immobilizer but not with Alarm system.
can I upgrade it to have both? and how?

    thanks in advance.

    Hello.

Answering your questions as you asked them:

    - Yes
    - Not on a 1.6 Auto - TC requires the car being able to spin the wheels, not a problem on a 1.6 Auto.
    - No, you can't, TC and ESP are a function of the ABS system.
    - No

Just get a normal alarm fitted, the factory fit one is crap anyway.

To need traction control, you really need the car to have the ability of spinning the wheels.

As you've got the slowest engine with an automatic gearbox, there is no hope of ever spinning the wheels unless you're on ice or mud. TC doesn't work on ice or mud, so it's useless.

Problem is the old auto box used on those cars isn't up to much more power, they're running near their limit with the 1.6 16v engine already. Much more power and you'll kill the 'box.
