    astra vxr fitting hid

    hi all

    just had a vxr delivered yesterday wow is it quick.

    just a question how hard is it to fit hid kit? i need to take the headlights out is this easy?

    any help

    You can fit them but unless they are spacial "canbus" ones then they wont work, they'll constantly trip the bulb check system and shut the lights off.

    do vauxhall not do a hid kit or anything as standard maybe worth a phone call

    yeh maybe, i have a kit sitting at home, not sure if its worth fitting now. what do you guys think?

    The canbus system in the mk5 really doesn't like HID's. as said TomH is test running some ones that are meant to work with canbus, so hang on a while and you too could have a set

    My friend here got a way to solve this, though I haven't seen his car.

    He told me to switch the wiring of headlamp and fog lamp.

    Coz the local engineer said the fog lamp is NOT control by the CANBUS.

    So, one could use a HID on his fog lamp.

    Meanwhile, the adaptor of these two lamps are the same.

    I might try this recently.

    At last, if it does work, the lamp switch control logic would reverse.

    headlamp<-->fog lamp

    Somebody wanna try this first?
