    Starting and running

I,ve got a 99 Astra 1.6 8v and I,ve just replaced the EGR valve, idle control unit and new s/plugs and it generally drives better.i.e less engine braking than before, therefor smoother take up when re-accelerating.
Problem is it still doesn,t like starting up smoothly.most times it fires and idles too slow for a few seconds then picks up,other times it will stall and when restarting goes to a fast idle then falls back as it should..
Any one got any ideas please..
PS. I unplugged the ECU for 10mins today to clear any unwanted data/fault codes

I had very similar with the same engine, cleaning the throttle body helped but didn't cure it, then I had the ecu software updated and now its like a differant car, smooth etc. Cost £24 +vat well worth having done.

if VX know there is an issue with some thing like this, why dont they do a recall and they foot the bill..rant over..
do they keep records of those that have been updated so you can check if yours has been updated or not???????

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, I just cleaned the inside of the throttle body thoroughly and it was fine, might not be the same with yours but it worth a go.
