Last weekend was the RS owners club National day at Rockingham, as I had never been to Rockingham before I felt it was a good excuse to go. So plans were set and my self and Ally arranged to meet up with a few of the RSOC Central and East of Scotland memebers to travel down.
So Saturday morning it was a nice 8am start and we had the Power house of a 1.8 Vectra L to show these RS boys what its all about.
The chariot for the weekend:
Steve getting his baby out ready to go, (for those interested theres a thread on this cars in the showroom section of detailingworld.co.uk)
We travelled to Hillend on the otherside of Edinburgh to meet up with a few others, before heading down to Abbington services where the West Coast region joined. In total there were 25 cars in all, ranging from S1 RS Turbo;s, RS1600;s. Sapphire Cosworth, Escort Cosworth, RS200;s, it was an impressive sight to say the least.
Unfortunately we could wait around too long as we had Derby and Ilkeston to go to before heading to our hotel at .
It pished down constantly all day, I blamed Ally, no real reason just felt like blaming him. I then wondered if I had done too may drugs that morning as thre appeared to be cows hovering above the M6:
Once at Billing we found that there was an American weekend on and subsequently were sharing the car park with these beasts:
Next morning and it was an early rise for some breakfast and the 30min or so drive up to Rockingham. Once there I was way impressed. The show was stacked with high quality cars, with hardly a chavved up barrywagon in sight.
The day was also added to with as well as RS owners on the track there was some proper racing later in the day. We only stayed to watch the pick up racing (which was awesome, much crashing-ness), but a few of the members cars on track earlier in the day were just awesome.
Here are a few of my favourite pictures frm the day:
