    18" on a Mk4 SRI

Hi, Know the question gets asked time and time again but just bought a set of 18" bsa manik 215/35/18 for my mk4 SRI and now in a bit of doubt whether or not they will fit ok.
Did a search last night and found that the offset should be between 42-49, however on the site I bought them from the offset is 40? Will this be ok, and I will be lowering 40/30.

You need to find out the width of the rim.

    7" or 7.5" the offset should be between 38 & 49

8" then ideally 45-49 although 42+ can work depending on how low u go

If your rims are 7 or 7.5" then youll be in ideal lowering territory with an ET40 (mines ET40 on 7.5 x 18s and dropped 55/40) If they are 8" wide then youll be ok lowering a certain amount - but maybe restricted to a drop of 40mm or so. Therefore no problems for the amount you're considering*

**Remember your model will be 20mm lower than lesser models as standard so do u intend on dropping it a further 40mm or have u been lookin at 40mm springs?? If its the latter then this figure is based on lesser specd models therefore they'll only drop it approx 20mm to where its currently at....
If u want to drop it an additional 40mm from its current position (ie in effect 60mm or so from standard lesser specd models then a 42ET may be a little aggressive on a 8" wide rim.... 7/7.5" and you'll be fine.

HTH and its not too confusing

    Thanks for the replies.
