    4 stud 308mm set up

First up you need a few bits from a 5 stud Mk1 Zafira,mk4 Astra,Mk5 Astra
if you can find a 1.9cdti thats a lot better as you can get all the bits you will need off that or a 2.0turbo Z20ler or Z20lel

your brake lines are the same on the fronts so no need to swap them over

    brake caliper
from any 5 stud Astra G or Zafira A you can also use Astra H or zafira B from all 5 stud ones but not a vxr
    brake caliper carrier
for 308mm has to come from a z20let engined car in Astra G or Zafira A
you can also find them on any 1,9cdti or Z20LEL or LER om Astra H or Zafira B
    new pads
    1.9cdti or 2,6v6 vectra B
    hub carrier

then all you need is the 308mm disc drilled to 4x100pcd
when done will lool like this under a 16inch wheel

I will edit this latter when i get a few more bits to finish the kit off

I linked this thread into my one for the 4-stud 280mm conversion.

See here for this convesion - ONLY difference with the one I did, using Danny's information before, is that I used OE 4-stud 280mm discs and my old Caliper carriers from my 280mm 5-stud Astra SRi brakes aftre I converted to bigger brakes. You use the same major parts for either conversion. You could source the carilpers and carriers of an Astra H with 280mm 5-stud discs for the 280mm 4-stud convesion also.

No worries Danny, if it helos anyone else out then all the better....

Thanks for the offer of the contact for the breakers, I have plenty of spare brake parts inc a spare 308mm discs setup from a delivery mileage car that I can use.

Hopfully we can have Astra owners with better braking power with what we have provided.

I meant to ask also Danny, do the re-drilled discs have the hole for the retaining screw aligned with the hub thread?

Once my 308mm discs arrive I am going to trial fit them with the early spec SXi rims just to see if they will fit, but I have the laste spec SXi 16's if required that I can fit. The question is how long they will last before she curbs one of them as the early spec ones have had a fet marks put on them since she got the car.

Looking the part.... Not used to seeing them with their clothes off

I will get a pic of their little sisters

Are they standard GM pads Danny...? How do you rate them. I have still not been able to use the brakes on the missus car as I still have the problme with the steering being out
