1.7 td Cracked pin on ECU..

Hi, i'm wondering if anyone can help me..

Got a Combo van with the 1.7di engine (same as cdti?) I assume. Anyway, the engine management light came on and there was a loss in power, so took it to the dealers who informed it was a cracked pin on the ECU.. Had a look and can see the pin, its the 2nd one in from bottom left..

Thing is, I can't get to it to solder one back on and it seems crazy to have to buy a new ecu because of it.. has anyone had this before? I jus need a quick fix as its for sale!

    Matt.

First off, the 1.7Di only shares the block with the 1.7CDTi.

You should be able to pick up an ECU somewhere cheap, there's plenty of those engines about. Any auto electrician should be able to repair your ECU, though.

Ah that sounds promising, sorry i just assumed they were the same engine being the same size etc!

How much do you reckon i should expect to pay to get mine fixed? or even for a second hand ecu etc..
