    DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service

    Hey guys,

I've become a bit obsessed with the above site.

I can remember all the numberplates of the cars my parents, friends, aunts and uncles have owned (I didnt try to it just seems to be something I remember!) and I thought I would find out how long all their old cars lasted after they sold them (my dads old 340 lasted 20 years - not bad)

Anyway, I sold my beloved Corsa back in October 2005, and it was still in good nick with plenty of life left. The site says its tax was last due on 24/07/2006. I thought licenses were only available with expiry dates on the last day of the month?

Does this mean that the DVLA were informed on that day that it was scrapped or something?

I admit I am bored and have no life.........

I think it is the date the tax was last renewed.

I'd love to know who's put my escort back on the road I'd written off and who now owns my old KA.

Date of liability means when the tax is next due for renewal. e.g my astra says 01/09/2007. (tax in post lol)

Thats why I thought it was strange that the date that appeared for my old Corsa said 24/07/2006, making me think that on that day it was scrapped.

I'm half hoping it has been taken off the road for some big V6-type project or something as it went to a family who all owned modded Vauxhalls!
