    traction control light

    hiya,need help.got a puncture last weekend.got it fixed and put it back on,as you do,now im getting the tc light flashing randomly whilst driving.any ideas why and how to fix it?

    its normally tourqe malfunction, do you have a dump valve, if so thats a common cause.

    after reading a second time they may have knockecd loose the wiring to the wheel speed sensor witch is behind the hub.

    plugged in my fault finder last night to see if it threw up any problems but nothing happened so im confused now.got a horrible feeling its gonna cost me quite a bit to fix.checked the plug like you suggested but thats fine,not loose.

    not getting any fault codes at all.just got home from work so when the mrs gets home i will take it out for a run to see what happens.hope its fixed itself!!!!think im wishing too much with that thought!!!

    now had this plugged into a tech 2 to see what that says and even that cant find a fault.getting very annoying now.
    only does it in 4th and 5th and between 40 and 90. (not that i make a habit of doing over 70!!! )
    any ideas????

    was the light flashing when u had the spare on?

    did u have the puncture repaired or a new tyre fitted?

    im not that up to speed on the TC system - just wondering if the system is detecting a difference in tyres between left and right and thinking theres a loss of traction when its just a difference in rubber....

    Im probs way off the mark so ignore the above....

    are we assume that the puncture was on the front wheel then ?

    if so are you running different size wheels to the spare ?

    just an idea as i know running 2 different size wheels can screw your diff up and maybe the wheel sensors are reading different values , tricking it into thinking 1 wheel is rotating slower than the other

    like i said , just an idea
