    Courtenay upgrade yesterday..

Well after spending the whole day at Courtenay yesterday the drive home with stage two was definately interesting. I was so dissapointed when I first drove the Zafira at purchase, as it felt so sluggish. But now it feels like an absolute beast. There was good news and bad news from my visit to Courtenay which put a slight dampener on the day.

First the good news, engine seems strong and the torque achieved was very good. Bad news is, the turbo seems very tired at the top end. On the rolling road it was overboosting as it should and picking up good power lower down, but higher up was not holding the boost it should. They tried adjusting the actuator, and even removing the pipe but it still wouldn't hold the boost. The was a small amount of dark smoke coming from the exhaust as well so it definately does look like the turbo is on the way out. Not too bothered as I was planning to go to stage four in a few months anyway.

    Anyway, the all important figures..

    241bhp at 5100rpm

    285lb/ft at 3100rpm

That torque gives you the proper 'back into the seat' that was not there before!! By looking at the way the graph was progressing and the torque, they reckoned it should of been close to the estimated 255bhp that CS2 should put out.

Excellent results. At least you've found out about your turbo early giving you time to save up. Although with this new power will come more strain so it will defo fail faster.

Top work by Courtenay once again!

Courtenay did the full stage two - front mount, airbox mods, plugs and remap

Already had pre-cat and powerflow exhaust

Just gutted that the turbos on its way out. Would of been good to see what sort of power it was running. Power was increasing smoothly upto 5,000rpm then the turbo said 'no thanks'.

Lovely job, nice to hear you are satisfied with the performance at last!

Bummer about the turbo getting a bit tired, have you noticed the dark smoke still?

If you do change the turbo, performance should improve a bit again
