best setup to lower a sport hatch

am looking to modify my car, by lowering the car by a few inches. anyone recommend the best setup for this, and as budget is an issue at the minute, what would be the cheapest setup for this!!!!

A lot of people use eibach kits. But these are pricey. I think your warranty will only remain covered if you use VX parts or the Irmscher lowering kit. Chances are that the cheapest option may be to get an Astra VXR set of springs etc from a VXR owner who is lowering their car, or find a VXR breaker that hasn't had one of its corners twatted!

ok, thinking of lowering car, and may have found a set of vxr springs and shocks, how much are these likely to lower the car by.

i currently have a Mk5 2.0 TURBO, sporthatch. is there going to be much difference, if so is it worth getting these.

Ive got mine lowered 45mm on spax springs! make hell of a lot of difference to handling but doesnt give you too much of a bumpy ride! As for looks it could still go lower but im currently still on standard 17's so may change once on 18's or 19's n low pro tyres

yeah i am still on 17's, but have managed to find someone with a set of vxr shocks and springs, and want to know how much this will be lower than my standard setup.

am looking to get some 18's or 19's also. spoke to vauxhall dealer, can get vxr 19's brand new for £1000.

iirc vxr springs only lower a standard sports hatch by 30mm! which isnt low enough imo!

    1k for 19's shocking

was a lot as have seen some people selling em for around £500, but was thinking of getting the BK999's but they only do these in 18's.

have put the xp kit on my car so it already looks a bit lower, so thought 30mm would have been enough.

i actually got mine from my dealer, i only paid £500 for it. and another guy on here got his from the same place and paid same money for it.

worth giving them a ring about it. got my cousin to spray it for £120 and another guy to fit it fot £50 so got myself a bargain.
