This stuff confuses me. I have this cool thing that fits to my head so that when I look out of my car it's like I have tints all round. EVEN MY FRONT WINDSCREEN!!!!! I call them tint vision. Others call them sunglasses. But each to their own.

Now my 'tint vision' isn't illegal.

Even when it's raining I can legally wear 'tint vision'.

But I can't have a tiny amount of tint in my front side windows. Much less tint than 'tint vision' provides me in fact.

    Why is this?

Surely it can't be because I won't be able to see outside the vehicle. As 'tint vision' would surely give me the same insane dangerous hazard while driving.

Well, if that's the case, then more than likely it's because 'they' can't see in as well. And if that's the case, then you could be up to anything. You could be on your phone (granted illegal...), picking your nose (granted disgusting...), planning a terrorist attack (granted not cool, but not having tints would prevent this how exactly?) etc... etc.....

Tinted windows is associated with 'boy racers' and 'drug dealers' by the general public. Not to mention the school run 4x4's and celebs. It's just, IMO of course, a way for the authorities to try and enforce something and target certain groups.

hypothetically - 2 cars drive down a road. Police are waiting to 'target tinted windows'. 2 cars, both with identical tints. Both deemed illegal and dangerously unsafe. One car, a silver new mercedes ML 4x4 job with a mum and her kids. The second a 'modded car' of any make / model etc.

Which one gets pulled in to get the tints checked?

    I digress......

Oh dear my tint vision also exceeds the 70% limit in fact my polorised glases have grater then 40% reduction.
So as you pointed out most driving glases are in fact illegal.?
