    Rear brake drums

    does anyone know what the short cables going to brake shoes is called?

    as one of mine has stuck on and caused over heating and turned my drums black

    The only cable used is the handbrake cable.

    This enters the bottom of the drum and pulls on one of the shoes....is this the cable in question?

    Might not necessarily be a new cable required, could just be new shoes and/or a general overhaul of the shoes/springs etc..

    i had to get RAC out to look at it, because i was stuck at metro centre and he said the cable has siezed and it needs to be replaced and not to use hand brake, he said its just a short cable (rear cable) that goes from the shoes and joins to an other cable (main cable) he said its in 3 parts,

    i also have to repaint my drums as the paint melted onto my rimms
