    The sum total of that damage to my Coupe....

    I was in the market for something to replace my SRI so I bought lutoncoupe's Coupe Turbo off him a couple of weeks ago, I'd had it 3 hours when this happened...

    The block in all it's broken glory...


    Cylinder No1 in all it's glory...




    Cylinder 4, note the metal shards....


    And here we have the culprit. First of all let me explain something...

    I was aware at time of purchase that lutoncoupe had blown 2 turbo's, 1 standard and 1 LEH. There is an LEH turbo on there at present, but I was assured that the repairs were all done to a high and professional standard...

    Peek-a-boo...I see you...






    This is what was left in the manifold downpipe....part of the shredded turbo that was previously fitted.

    Let me know your thoughts....

    ****ing hell! I have no idea about cars engines and stuff... but by looking at that, that would have me in tears!

    3 hours I'd had the car, I'd done a sum total of 4 miles. Still lutoncoupe claims it wasn't his fault!

    And I have pics of the current turbo to prove it is still intact.

    I dont want to get into who's fault it is or isnt - I would try and sort it out between yourselfs... however, I would not be happy if I was told it was done to a high pro standard.

    EDIT: Its one thing that gets on my tits, is when a company/person says they have done something to a certain standard and then you find out it was a complete shambles. I've had first hand experience and I can tell you, its not a nice feeling.

    I have been into it with him via PM, he claims that because he'd driven the car for 4 months on the current turbo that it can't have been his fault...

    Aaaanyway...like you said, let's not get into who's fault it is

    Bloody hell no wonder people dont want to buy moded cars you never know how many corners Hamilton has cut to achieve more power,if that is the events from start to finish, sounds a bit suspect,i to have been on the receiving end of a company that said they where all that and a bag of chips,they where more like a fry short of a happy meal! i know it hurts mate i wish you all the best in getting your motor sorted

    Dam No1 is blown up alond with No 3 thats not good at all mate
    also on the turbo is that a turbo impeller in the down pipe wtf

    isnt the head gasket showing evidence of a leak on No1 cylinder. At 12 oclock. That black mark looks like carbon from in the cylinder. Can't give any advice as per who is to blame etc. but best of luck

    This sounds really strange but my mates got a zaffy zlet with regal stage 3 and vxr turbo.

    I rebuilt it for him inc head reconditioned and new vxr turbo because the old one blew up (ran out of oil and damaged the turbo seals)

    Anyway after driving the car for a week it broke a brand new genuine vxr turbo (spindle warped). There's oil both sides of the turbo pipes when i removed it again.

    Obviously he's not blaming me because we both cleaned every part when refitted it and he's a good mate.

    Im as puzzled at you cos he doesn't wanna fit another 500 pound turbo for it to break again
