    cambelt change

I know it been asked before, but at what mileage should the cambelt be changed,
    the car is a mk5 1.4 16v on a 05 plate.the service manual shows
    replacement at 6yrs or 60.000mls.
other than that i have had no problems with the car from new,40 plus
to the gallon and not a squeak or rattle anywhere.WELL PLEASED.

Whats the current mileage and whats the history like?

Irrespective of what the manual states I would always change at at 40K

Im not sayin this is the correct interval but just my preference.
