    Faulty gear knob

Has anyone else had any problems with their gearknob. The problem ive got is the lift up bit on the knob to put it into reverse is sometimes very hard to lift up! I think its just catching on something and after pulling it up whilst driving today it seems to be ok when in 5th or 3rd but hard in 4th. Can anyone help me solve this please.

Why are you trying to use the 'lift' in any gear other than trying to select reverse ???

You should only use it when stationary to select reverse

Im not bloody stupid, ive had problems putting it into reverse when stationery so was just lifting it up while it was in other gears to see if it would lift up. Doing that doesnt affect anything rather than lifting up the plastic bit and seeing if it was stiff or not.

Model, engine and year would be useful information. There's a few different way in which the sticks work depending on that information.

Might be worth having a peep under the leather gaitor. You can remove it by pulling out the bit of plastic below the handbrake, and then removing a couple of screws.
