    Running Rough

My car is running rough and the engine managment light is on, i have taken it to a garage and they did a tech2 on it and it came back as no spark on 1, so they said its the coil pack, i have replaced that and its made no difference so they said i need a new ecu, do you think that could be the case or would resetting it after putting a new coil pack on help as i didnt do that as i dont have the radio code, i hope its something else dont really want to spend 500 on a new ecu

Coil pack - has no leads!

Silly thing to suggest, but have you replaced the plugs?

I would maybe get Vaux to put in writing that the ecu needs changed and if that does not cure the problem then do not pay for it!? Would that work?

    What engine is it?

thanks for quick reply, had a look at the wires one thing i noticed was that between the coil pack and ecu someone had opened all them all up as they were rapped in insulation tape, also the engine is a x18xe and there are only 5 wires coming out of the coil pack plug the but on my z18xe there is 6 the brown one on the end is missing, would this cause the problem and would i need new loom to fix this
