    Astra 4x4 Help???

    Hi all im after some info on converting my astra gsi turbo to 4x4
    i know its been done a few times.

    That's a Cavalier/Calibra 4x4 rear floor pan and running gear.

    Lots of cutting and welding.

    Wants doing well too, as if it's not parallel, the car will crab!

    are you sure? The cavalier 4x4 had the fuel tank in the usual place and that looks like a custom jobbie. Think thats a cavalier/calibra rear suspension setup grafted onto an Astra

    the 4x4 Cav and all calibra have a plastic tank under the boot floor.

    That looks like a custom tank to save losing so much boot space.


    that's a 4x4 engine subframe too, as the crossmember is right at the back.

    on the astra it sits about 4" further forward.

    I have all the parts i still have the calibra turbo that i got the engine from do u know anyone thats done it?

    There's a Calibra 2WD to 4WD conversion on MIG, that'll show you how to sort the front part of the floor.

    Rear part is more difficult.

    cut the calibra floor out, and measure up how it compares to the Astra floor and get chopping.

    I did see a 4x4 Astra mk3 Gsi
    looking at that on the pit
    Dam its a lot of work
    cutting
