Well done on commiting an offence under the Wildlife and Coutryside Act 1981, for which the fine is £1000, and posting your confession on a public forum

    You can shoot a Seagul!!

Or any other bird of prey, song bird, or endangered species.

Like Ffeog says it is an offense with fine of £1000, its people that shoot the wrong species of birds that give us legal shooters bad names

Please check what you can shoot next time

    On a side note.

There are a pair of montague harriers nesting about 10 miles away from where I live Ffeog, apparently there are only 8 breading pairs in the UK, so quite rare

The bird watching society (cant remember there real name) have set up a watching point for them

You can't shoot a seagull under the stated circumstances - craping on a car is not considered as due cause to kill one

Otherwise they can only be shot if you hold a 'general licence' issued by Defra for...

    (i) preventing the spread of disease

(ii) preventing serious damage to livestock, foodstuffs for livestock, crops, vegetables, fruit, growing timber, fisheries or inland waters.

Listed game birds have different rules tho
