    Unhappy astra mk5 electric windows

Hello I have an 07 registered mk5 astra club 1.6 petrol estate.

I can only open the electric windows with the ignition switched on.

Our works engineers have astra life models (1.3 or 1.7 diesel) and they can open the electric windows with the ignition off as long as the key stays in the ignition.

Since the "club" model is allegedley a higher spec than the "life" model I would have expected that I would have been able to close the windows with the ignition off but with key in and by usuing the fob.
Has anybody got any ideas about this since I am getting nowhere with any Vauxhall dealers.

    Phil

Hi mate they do not have a timer delay for the windows the ignition has to be turned on and when it is turned off the key must stay in for the window switch to operate,it will not work from the fob, does that answer your question

    electric windows

Thanks for that reply but even if I leave the key in the ignition the windows still won't shut unless the ignition is on. Is there something wrong here that Vauxhall can fix. The "Life" model does work with the key in and ignition off.

    Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dunno whther this helps- but when getting in the car and shutting the door i cannot open my windows until the ignition is on.
when i switch off the ignition and take key out my car will let me close the windows only if the door has not been opened.
other than that i can control the windows using the buttons on the key fob.
im assuiming all the mk5 have a total closure setting.
i would have a word with vauxall
